Partnerships

East Meets East

East Meets East is a partnership between FAB & the Lower East Side BID, which creates programs, deals, and events that will bring audiences & shoppers to the East Village & Lower East Side. Both organization acknowledge the historic relationship between their neighborhoods and are working hard to banish the Houston barrier that prevents a follow of traffic between the two neighborhoods. In 2009, East Meets East produced Pride Goes East, which brought Pride Week participants east for an outdoor festival, Pride-themed performances, shopping & dining deals.
East Village History Project

FAB & East Village History Project have teamed up to produce a series of events, activities, and resources to reveal the rich history, social, cultural, and political, of the East 4th Street Cultural District. Beginning with monthly tours of the District, involvement in East Village History Project's Trivia nights, and the on-going development of a detailed District timeline, FAB & EVHP will be leaving no stone unturned in the development of a comprehensive history of the District.
FAB Media

In order to increase the exposure of the theater, dance, & film and other programs offered by its members, FAB has launched partnerships with East Village Radio, Stagebuddy, and East Village Podcasts, as well as independent visual and media artists. By helping FAB to create media that features our members these local media organizations have helped share in an interactive way the types of events, classes, activities, and services available to the public, increasing audience attendance and awareness of all the East 4th Street Cultural District has to offer. These partnerhships havbe yielded 15 pieces of video and audio, which can be viewed in the Media section of our website.
Free on Fourth

Fourth Arts Block & many of its members are participating in Free Night of Theater, Theatre Communications Group's national audience development program designed to attract new audiences to America's not-for-profit theatres. Since the pilot program, which debuted in three cities in 2005, Free Night has expanded across the country and will be presented in over 100 cities by more than 600 theaters in 2009. This year is Free Night’s second in New York City. Check back for more information on how FAB & Free Night are working together next month.
openhouse newyork

Fourth Arts Block is excited to be participating in openhousenewyork for a second year, after 2008's great turnout. Last year, FAB was invited to join more than 200 unique sites that represent the best of New York's architecture, design, history & culture. This year FAB will be hosting tours of theaters and historical buildings in the East 4th Street Cultural District on both Saturday October 10th and Sunday October 11th with complimentary treats at FAB Ce. FAB will also be offering discounted tickets to tour goers for Coffee House Chronicles, a series at La MaMa that hosts famous writers, directors, actors, and composers, to speak about their early experiences in theater in front of a live audience.
