Ryan Gilliam (she/her), Executive Director of FAB and Downtown Art

Ryan Gilliam is the Executive Director of FABnyc and Downtown Art. Ryan is a co-founder of FAB and has been working in the Lower East Side as an artist, youth worker, cultural producer and organizer for decades. She serves on the boards of NOCD-NY and ART/NY and is a member of Community Board 3.

Kimberly Golding (she/her), Dance Block Associate

Kim hails from Bronx, NY and is the Dance Block Associate for FABnyc. She received her B.A. from Williams College, majoring in Theater and Psychology, and has returned to New York in an effort to administratively and artistically support the city’s arts and culture institutions that are passionate cultural equity.

Emilio Martinez Poppe (they/them), Programs Manager

Emilio helps maintain and develop FABnyc’s programming on 4th street and across the LES. They are an artist, designer, educator, and organizer reimagining inclusivity and equity in community and institutional settings. Emilio is a member of the collective BFAMFAPhD and recent alum of The Laundromat Project. They grew up between Baltimore, MD and Lima Peru and moved to NYC in 2012 to attend the Cooper Union School of Art.

KT Pe Benito (they/them), Dance Block Manager

KT Pe Benito is the current Dance Block Manager and works in FABnyc communications. KT is a non binary and interdisciplinary artist and a volunteer to other artists and activists. They grew up in Portland, OR and moved to NYC in 2012 to attend the Cooper Union School of Art. They’ve stuck around the neighborhood ever since. KT works towards making safer spaces and affordable spaces within their communities and supporting other people to express their truth.

Dakota Scott (she/her), Director of Special Projects

Dakota is the Director of Special Projects at FABnyc and the Associate Director at Downtown Art. She grew up in Lower East Side public schools and still lives in the neighborhood. While receiving her Bachelor’s at Knox College, she founded The 61401, an arts & community organization aimed to strengthen relationships between university students and the town of Galesburg, Illinois. She currently coordinates Lower East Side History Month which engages over ninety participating organizations in the area.

Addison Vawters (he/him), Operations Manager

Addison is the operations manager of FABnyc where they share in the management of programming, administration, and fundraising. They hold a master’s in city and regional planning from Pratt Institute and they have been working with grass roots community development groups in NYC for the past three years on issues of environmental justice, economic justice and resiliency planning. Prior, they lived and worked in Philadelphia as a farmer and carpenter after obtaining their Bachelor of Arts in political science with a concentration in organic and sustainable agriculture from the University of Florida.
